A Sistema de limpieza con rascadores is an advanced pipeline cleaning and product recovery technology that uses a pipeline pig driven by fluid pressure and mechanical scraping to remove residual material and clean pipelines efficiently. Working Principle: A pig is propelled through the pipeline by compressed air, nitrogen, or liquid. As it travels, it pushes residual product toward the pipeline outlet for recovery while simultaneously cleaning the inner pipe wall, achieving high recovery rates and effective online cleaning.
Pigging System Components

A complete pigging system typically consists of the following key components:
- Pig Launcher: Stores and launches the pig; serves as the starting point of pigging operations (can also function as a receiver in some designs).
- Pig Receiver: Receives the pig after operation (can also act as a launcher for bidirectional systems).
- Cerdo: A slightly oversized elastic device that seals against the pipe wall to push and remove residual materials.
- Driving Medium: Compressed air, water, or other fluids used to propel the pig.
- Control System: Includes valves, sensors, and automation systems to control pig movement and monitor operation status.
Pigging Process
- Insert the pig into the launcher and seal the system
- Introduce compressed air, nitrogen, or liquid as the driving medium
- Propel the pig through the pipeline
- Push residual product to the pipeline end for recovery
- Receive the pig in the receiver
- Reset the system for the next cycle
The entire pigging process typically takes only a few minutes and can be fully automated. Compared to traditional CIP (Clean-in-Place) systems, it significantly reduces cleaning time, water usage, and chemical consumption.

A pig station is a specialized valve unit integrating pig launching, receiving, driving control, and position monitoring. It is a key component ensuring safe and stable pigging operations.
